State Budget Plan Moving Ahead

Heffley Comments On HB 941

Legislation co-sponsored by PA State Reps. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) and Rob Matzie (D-Beaver/Allegheny) that would increase transparency in pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) pricing practices was approved by the House Health Committee on June 11, 2019. Heffley spoke in support of House Bill 941 prior to the committee vote.

Special Olympians from Carbon County Recognized by PA House of Representatives

At the Capitol on April 8, 2019, PA State Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) hosted two Special Olympic athletes from Carbon County who won gold medals in international competitions. Delina Jo Rodrigues of Palmerton took first place in two powerlifting events at the 2019 Special Olympic World Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Matthew Anthony of Palmerton and his father, Christopher, were winners of the Unified Bowling Doubles event at the Special Olympics North America Bowling Competition in Las Vegas. The athletes, who were introduced in the House chamber along with their families, were recognized for their outstanding achievements by House members.

Rep. Heffley Comments On House Bill 349

The House Labor and Industry Committee held a public hearing on March 20, 2019, relating to House Bill 349, legislation sponsored by PA State Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) that would amend Pennsylvania’s Uniform Construction Code.

Enhancing Drug Recovery Services

Two pieces of legislation sponsored by Rep. Doyle Heffley to enhance drug recovery treatment in Pennsylvania were the focus of a hearing conducted by the House Human Services Committee. House Bill 424 would establish a statewide “warm hand-off” program, while House Bill 596 would create an internet-based registry of available beds in detox and rehab facilities statewide.

Heffley Questions Department of Agriculture

During a budget hearing with the PA Department of Agriculture on March 5, 2019, PA State Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) asked Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding to provide an update on the Spotted Lanternfly and how the department is spending the state dollars allocated toward stopping the spread of the invasive insect.
