Heffley, Yudichak Announce Carbon County Senior Expo Set for Sept. 7
8/24/2017
JIM THORPE – Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) and Sen. John Yudichak (D-Luzerne/Carbon) invite area seniors to their Senior Expo on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, located at 101 East 10th St. in Jim Thorpe.

The Senior Citizens Expo will feature more than 50 vendors who will provide useful information about their programs and services. In addition, a prescription drug drop-off box will be available for seniors to dispose of their unwanted or expired medications. A free lunch will also be served.

“I encourage area seniors to attend our Senior Expo,” said Heffley. “This is a one-stop shop intended to inform senior citizens and their families about the many resources available for them in Carbon County.”

“The Carbon County Senior Expo showcases many programs and services for seniors,” said Yudichak. “The event serves as a great opportunity for seniors to directly access information by speaking with representatives from local, state and federal agencies. I always look forward to the event, as we get to help and visit with many of the great senior citizens of Carbon County.”

The legislators will also be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to a local food bank and ask everyone who attends to consider bringing a donation.

For more information, contact Heffley’s office at 610-377-6363 or Yudichak’s office at 570-325-3274.
