Dec. 18, 2020

HARRISBURG – Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) is alerting eligible older adults and residents with disabilities that the deadline to apply for Pennsylvania’s 2019 Property Tax/Rent Rebate program is Thursday, Dec. 31.

Heffley reminds residents that they need not pay a private entity for assistance in filing the forms. Copies of the forms, as well as assistance with filing them, are available at Heffley’s district offices at no cost.

Applicants should call 610-377-6363 (Weissport) or 570-722-8700 (Albrightsville) to schedule an appointment soon, as available times during the holiday period are limited.

Eligible participants can receive a rebate of up to $650 based on their rent or property taxes paid in 2019. The program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians who are 65 years or older, widows and widowers 50 years or older, and those 18 years or older with permanent disabilities.

Additional information about the program and applications are available at revenue.pa.gov.
