WEISSPORT – Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) invites residents of the 122nd Legislative District to his annual Sportsmen’s and Outdoor Expo in Jim Thorpe.
The free event will be held on Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Co. #1,
1387 State Route 903. The expo will include door prizes and feature more than 30 exhibitors.
“Carbon County has so many outdoor recreational activities for families, so this expo serves as an awesome opportunity for folks to learn more about what our area has to offer,” said Heffley.
The expo will be preceded by a hunter/trapper education course, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, which will start at 7 a.m. The class is available to first-time hunters and children ages 11 and up. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. Topics covered during the course include responsible hunting behavior, firearm safety, wildlife and conservation management and hunting techniques. To register for the course, visit
