As summer kicks off, many Pennsylvania families are making plans to visit one of our state’s beautiful parks. Thousands of acres are managed by the Commonwealth for the enjoyment of all residents. However, numerous parks across the Commonwealth, like Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, are struggling to keep up with increased financial demands that come with heightened attendance.

Heffley, Fish and Boat Commission to Offer Basic Boating Courses

LEHIGHTON – Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) along with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, will offer a two-night basic boating safety course on Monday, April 24, and Wednesday, April 26, from 6-10 p.m. at Beltzville State Park’s Environmental Education and Interpretation Center, 2950 Pohopoco Drive, Lehighton. A second course will be offered on Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Harmony Fire Company, 257 Lake Harmony Road, Lake Harmony.

Sportsmen’s and Outdoor Expo Set for March 25, Says Heffley

LEHIGHTON – In an effort to promote the many outdoor recreational activities available to Carbon County residents, Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) will host a Sportsmen’s and Outdoor Expo on Saturday, March 25, from 2-5 p.m. at Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, in Jim Thorpe.

Heffley to Offer Gypsy Moth and Invasive Species Seminar

LEHIGHTON – To provide information to area residents about invasive insect species, Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) will be offering a seminar led by a service forester for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) on Tuesday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m. at his Lehighton district office, 110 North 3rd St., Lehighton.
